READING THE INFORMATION IN THE MOON DIARY

Each month, the Moon moves through all twelve of the Astrological signs. She spends approximately 2½ days in each. The exact time that the Moon moves into one of these signs is called the transit time. In this Moon Diary, you will find this time in the top right  corner of the day, next to the glyph (symbol )for the sign. Also in this corner, you will also find the exact time of each of the quarter moons (Full,Waning,Waxing,Dark)

At the centre top of the day, is the exact time of the beginning of any void-of-course-moon time.

GARDENING BY THE MOON

At the New Moon (at least 12 hours after the Dark Moon), Plant leafy annuals which produce above the ground.

At the First Quarter Moon, plant vine like plants which fruit above ground.

At the Full Moon, ( at least 12 hours after ) plant anything which fruits underground. Grow sprouts for eating. Medicinal plants are most potent when harvested at this time.

At the Last Quarter Moon, weed, cultivate, fertilise and harvest.

THE VOID-OF-COURSE-MOON

Each time the Moon leaves on sign for the next, She makes a final major aspect (conjunction, trine, square, opposition or sextile) to the planet in the latest degree of the zodiac. The time between this major aspect and the moment the Moon moves into the next sign is called the void-of-course-moon period. These periods can last from a few seconds to a day or so.

During the void-of-course-moon time :

Take time out for reflection, meditation or dreaming.

Avoid :

Beginning new projects.

Signing an agreement.

Buying significant items such as a car or house.

New business arrangements, marriage or commitment to a partner.

DIRECTIONS/ELEMENTS

The four directions correspond to the four elements. There are many different ideas about how these correspondences work . For myself, I prefer it to be relevant to what is in my immediate environment. So , for example, where I live on the East coast of Australia, for me, East corresponds to Water, and West to Air. Because I'm in the Southern Hemisphere and the Sun moves across the sky in the North, North is Fire and South, which is the place of the shadow is Earth.

If you are in the Northern Hemisphere, the Sun moves across the sky in the South so South corresponds to Fire and North to Earth. Take time to consider where you are on the planet and you will be able to work out correspondences which are relevant to you.
